# Connect CATS with API Key – StackOne Hub

> Link a CATS account in the StackOne Hub using API Key. End-user guide to authorize the integration and start using CATS actions.

<Warning>Your API key grants full access to your CATS account data. Keep it secure and never share it publicly.</Warning>

  <h2>Generate your CATS API Key</h2>

  <p>Create a new API key from your CATS account settings to authenticate with StackOne.</p>

    <Step title="Go to the CATS login page">

        <p>Navigate to <a href="https://login.catsone.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">login.catsone.com</a>. Enter your <strong>Subdomain</strong> and click <strong>Continue</strong>.</p>

        <ul>
          <li>Your <strong>Subdomain</strong> is the first part of your CATS URL: if your full URL is `https://yourcompany.catsone.com`, then `yourcompany` is your subdomain.</li>

        <p>Enter your <strong>Email</strong> and <strong>Password</strong> on your subdomain login page and click <strong>Log In</strong>.</p>

    <Step title="Open Settings">

        <p>After logging in, click the <strong>Settings</strong> (⚙) gear icon in the top-right navigation bar.</p>

          <li>In the <strong>Settings</strong> menu, click <strong>Administration</strong>.</li>

    <Step title="Navigate to API Keys">

        <p>On the <strong>Administration</strong> page, under <strong>Site Management</strong>, click <strong>API Keys</strong>.</p>

    <Step title="Add a new API Key">

        <p>Click <strong>Add API Key</strong> in the top-right corner of the API Keys page. A <strong>Generate New API Key</strong> dialog will appear.</p>

    <Step title="Enter a key name and generate">

        <p>Enter a descriptive name in the <strong>Key Name</strong> field (e.g., "StackOne Integration") and click <strong>Generate</strong>.</p>

        <p>The new key will appear in the list. Copy the value from the <strong>KEY</strong> column and paste it into the <strong>API Key</strong> field in StackOne.</p>

  <h2>Linking the Account from the Hub</h2>

  <Steps>
    <Step title="Navigate to the Hub">
      Use one of the three <a href="/connect/managing-connectors/linking-accounts">Linking Account Methods</a> to access the Hub.
    </Step>

    <Step title="Fill out the fields">
      Fill out the following fields using details from your provider:

      <ul>
        <li><strong>API Key</strong></li>
      </ul>

    <Step title="Connect">
      <ul>
        <li>Click <strong>Connect</strong></li>
        <li>If applicable, the provider will redirect you to a sign-in or authorization page. Complete the provider's authorization flow.</li>
        <li>Once authorization is successful, you will see a confirmation popup</li>
      </ul>

  <p>If the account linking is successful, you will see the newly linked account in your <a href="/gateway/concepts/linked-accounts">Accounts</a> page.</p>
