Before setting up the Jira integration, you need to create a new OAuth app in Atlassian Developer Console.

Create the Atlassian OAuth 2.0 App

Log in to Atlassian Developer Console

Log in to your Atlassian Developer Console at https://developer.atlassian.com/console/

Create a new OAuth app

Click on Create > OAuth 2.0 integration button to create a new OAuth app.

Enter App Name

Enter the App name you want, agree to the terms and then click on Create button. You will be redirected to the app overview page.

Edit the Distribution settings

  1. Go to Distribution and click on Edit button.
  2. Change the Distribution Status to Sharing.
  3. Enter at least your Vendor name and Privacy policy URL.
  4. Select the appropriate Personal Data Declaration option.
  5. Click Save changes.

Edit the Authorization settings

  1. Go to Authorization.
  2. For Authorization type Oauth 2.0 (3LO), click Add.
  3. Enter the Callback URL.
  4. Click Save changes.

Edit the Permissions settings

  1. Go to Permissions.
  2. For the API name Jira API, click Add.
  3. Click Edit Scopes.
  4. Select the scopes required.

Make sure you have set Authorization settings otherwise you may not be able to add scopes correctly.

  1. Click Save changes.

Get the Client ID and Client Secret

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Copy and store the values for Client ID and Secret to be used in later steps .

Enable the StackOne Jira Integration

Enable the Integration

  1. Go to the StackOne app > Integrations.
  2. Navigate to Ticketing.
  3. Find Jira and click + .

Setup the Integration

  • Authentication Type: OAuth 2.0 - Client Credentials
  • Domain: The domain of your Atlassian instance where the app is configured.
  • Client ID: The Client ID of the Atlassian app (from previous steps).
  • Client Secret: The Client Secret of the Atlassian app (from previous steps).
  • Application Scopes (optional): The scopes you want the application to use (or if left blank, placeholder scopes will be used).

Click Save Changes.

Connect the Account

  1. Go to the StackOne app > Accounts.
  2. Click Link Test Account.
  3. Click Jira.
  4. Click Connect.

A popup will appear asking you to login.

Atlassian Login

  1. Choose the Atlassian domain you want to connect to.
  2. Click Accept.
